Armed Forces Day 29 June

AF_Day_Mansion_House_steps290619.jpgCaroline Flint joined Rosie Winterton MP, Mayor Ros Jones and Civic Mayor Linda Curran and dignitaries to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

The MPs and the borough's Mayors watched the parade of veterans, Army Reservists and cadets march past the Mansion House, followed by an assembly in the Market Square.

AF_Day_March_past.jpgSaid Caroline: "This is a day of thanks to all those who serve in our forces today, and also to those who served in the past.  We could not have had a finer day for this special event."

Armed Forces Day was created in 2006 by the Labour Government as an annual event to thank our Armed Services.
