Around Don Valley at Christmas

Caroline_Susan_Kelsey_and_Caitlin.JPGCaroline Flint writes:

Thanks to everyone at Edlington Hill Top School, Trinity Academy, Thorne and St Oswald's Academy, Finningley for inviting me to your Christmas events.

christingles_2.jpgI was treated to a Christmas show with festive videos, and the school orchestra at Edlington Hill Top.  After the production, I  met staff and was treated to a piece of Christmas pie provided by Mr Grime, a teacher for forty years who still volunteers at the school.  Head of School Rachel MacLeod and Executive Head Beryce Nixon run a wonderful school at Edlington Hill Top.  The show was a treat and so was the pie!

After the Edlington Hill Top show, I joined Thorne Mayor Cllr Susan Durant at Trinity Academy’s Christmas Service.  Susan and I joined year 7 for a photo after the event. Can you spot us?

And it was candles and oranges in abundance at St Oswald’s Academy, Finningley, as I joined pupils for the Christingles Service at St Oswald’s Church.
