Ivanhoe, which is rated good by Ofsted, boasts 100% attainment for maths and 100% for punctuation and spelling.

Ofsted reported: “Pupils leave the school attaining standards in reading, writing and mathematics that are constantly above that expected for their age and above other pupils of the same age nationally.”

Ms Flint met Principal Brendon Fletcher to discuss the college’s first year. New College Doncaster exceeded expectations enrolling approximately 475 Year 12 students for its first year. The college hopes to double in size next year when it recruits the next cohort of students in September, with both Year 12 and Year 13 students in college.

Statement from Caroline Flint about the Yorkshire Wildlife Park expansion

Doncaster’s Planning Committee considered the application on 9 January.

I attended one of the first consultations on the planned expansion and encouraged the public to have their say.  I looked at the plans in detail and read the objections raised by residents and the parish council.

Caroline Flint has called on supermarkets to follow the example of Iceland and ban plastic packaging within five years.

Caroline Flint has co-signed an open letter in the Sunday Times (21 January) to the Government, from alcohol campaigners, health professionals and MPs, calling for the Government to set minimum unit pricing for alcohol.

The Don Valley MP has previously campaigned to end the low duty on strong ciders, after seeing the affects on patients at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Signatories included church leaders, academics and police and crime commissioners.

E.ON_logo.jpgThe Energy company E.ON have notified Caroline Flint of a new community fund, called Energising Communities Fund.

Community organisations and charities can apply for £2,000 for energy-related improvements and activities.

Requests must be submitted by midnight on Monday 29 January 2018.

The MP was given a tour of the centre, which is the size of 15 football pitches, by General Manager, Stuart Morgan, Lesley Smith, Director of UK Public Policy.

Commenting on the latest Ofgem figures, Caroline Flint said:

“The fact that 57% of customers are still on expensive standard variable tariffs is appalling, but that the major energy companies such as SSE and British Gas offer such poor value to the many, yet provide deals that are £300 cheaper for the few who shop online is breath taking.
