A Rossington community enterprise, Holmescarr Ark and Crafts has been backed by local MP Caroline Flint after the MP visited the “Grow your Own” project.

The MP spent two hours at the Holmescarr centre, where Ark and Crafts run the community café.

Said Caroline:  “This community enterprise has thrived since it began.  The café is a growing success and the range of activities at the café and the allotment grow month by month.

Said Rachael Blake: “The best community projects provide something that isn’t there in the community.  Holmescarr Ark & Crafts does just that.  The Holmescarr centre has never been so busy.  And the ‘Grow your own’ project is all about showing people it is not hard to grow the fruit vegetables and plants that we love.”

Heather Maw, Trustee of Ark and Crafts: “We are delighted that Caroline Flint has backed our Grow Your Own project.   This is just one of the many initiatives that bring Ark & Crafts closer to our community. The popularity of our Community Café tells us we are doing something right and word is already spreading about our Veterans’ Breakfasts on Saturdays.

“We are very proud of all we have achieved in just a few years and the ongoing support of Caroline and Cllr Rachael Blake is really appreciated.”
