Caroline urges Public Health Minister to spread alcohol support funding across the country

Caroline has urged the Public Health Minister, Steve Brine MP, to fairly distribute the £6 million funding available for children of alcoholics fairly around the country.

After extensive lobbying from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Children of Alcoholics, of which Caroline is a key member, the Government agreed to allocate £6 million in funding for children of alcoholics.

Caroline praised the Minister for his work on this issue and asked about the distribution of funding around the country and how local groups can apply for funding.

The Minister replied that charities and third sector organisations will play a key part in putting in bids to work with local authorities. He also confirmed that Public Health England is leading on the organisation of the bidding process.
