Doncaster still in running for Heathrow Logistics Hub

Heathrow Airport has announced that three Doncaster sites are still in the running to become logistics hubs for the Heathrow expansion.

Welcoming the news, airport campaigner Caroline Flint said:

“The news that Doncaster has three sites as potential Logistics Hubs for the construction of the new runway at Heathrow is a huge vote of confidence in Doncaster.  Doncaster is gaining a reputation for having the skills, logistics and transport links right in the heart of the country.  We can make a real contribution to the success of this project if Doncaster is given the chance.  It is exciting that one of the Business Summits – a major event for suppliers – is being partnered by Doncaster Chamber and held in Doncaster.  There is a big opportunity for Yorkshire to play a major role in this project.”

Other South Yorkshire areas to make the list include Sheffield and two in Barnsley.
