Labour Leader and Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband took to the stump this week in Conisbrough to give a stirring speech backing Ros Jones.
Mr Miliband also took questions on a range of topics from members of the public who had gathered round to hear him speak.
Ros and Ed were also joined by local MPs Caroline Flint, Rosie Winterton and John Healey.
In his speech, Ed Miliband said: "Ros is running on the issues that really matter to people here in Doncaster. She is saying we've got to crack down on anti-social behaviour because we know that is a huge issue for people right across the borough.
"She's saying we've got to give opportunities to our young people with apprenticeships and that is something she'll fight for as the mayor of Doncaster.
"She says let's bring jobs back to Doncaster. And most of all Ros stands for Labour values. Something very significant about her opponent in this campaign, Peter Davies, is that he said recently that he'd been in the Conservative Party for 22 years, and that his views haven't changed.
"That is the choice at this election - it's a choice between a Labour mayor in Ros Jones, and basically a Tory mayor in all but name in Peter Davies."
Said Caroline: "It was great to bring Ed to Conisbrough to campaign door to door with Ros Jones and the local Labour team. Ed stayed for hours speaking to residents. Our team with over 50 volunteers, spoke to nearly 900 residents in one day - and Ros has been on doorsteps 5-6 hours each day.
"I don't believe any other candidate, least of all our Tory Mayor, shows this passion and commitment to meeting people, sharing their concerns and standing up for Doncaster."
Following the street speech and Q&A session, Ed joined Ros, Caroline and a large team of campaigners on a canvassing session in Conisbrough, meeting voters on their doorsteps.
