First ever Manifesto for Children of Alcoholics launched

COA_Manifesto_launch.jpgCaroline Flint spoke movingly this week of her life as the childhood with a parent struggling with alcohol addiction.

The launch was supported by the National Association for Children of Alcoholics, who run a helpline for children.  This week NACOA reported a child ringing their helpline asking for a bedtime story because mum and dad were drunk in another room.

Caroline Flint is an officer of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Children of Alcoholics, which launched the manifesto.

A survey by the Group found in 2016, that not one local authority had a plan to support children of problem drinkers as part of their alcohol strategy.
