Mary Poppins flies in for Scarecrow Festival

Karen_Mary_Poppins.jpgMary Poppins made a surprise appearance at this Year's Tickhill Scarecrow festival, as residents, businesses and community organisations went scarecrow crazy for a day.

The winning scarecrow was created by Karen Stoodley, who was presented with her trophy by Caroline Flint.

With_Jan_at_Daisies.jpgSaid Caroline: "Karen's Mary Poppins was stunning.  It made for a really unusual spectacle on Sunderland Street as it looks like Mary is descending to meet the chimney sweep and children.

"This festival has become a wonderful part of the Tickhill calendar and a great day for parents, children and visitors."

Caroline also made time for lunch at Daisies before judging the scouts wooden spoon scarecrows.
