Don Valley MP, Caroline Flint, and Civic Mayor and Conisbrough Councillor, Chris Mills, joined local residents to support the launch of Doncaster West Foodbank.
The Foodbank will run every Friday from 11-1pm at The Place, Castle Street, Conisbrough.
FRESH FOOD: Mark Dockerty, Caroline Flint, Cllr Chris Mills, Nichola Rimmington and Sean Gibbons, Managing Director of Foodaware.
Said Caroline: “Everyone knows how tough people are finding life at present – and this Foodbank is one way of the community saying ‘you are not alone, we can help’. The community in Conisbrough and Denaby Main is very generous, and I know that the Foodbank will be getting on to local supermarkets to ensure that they don’t throw away any unnecessary food.”
Said Cllr Chris Mills: “I know that, sadly, this Foodbank is more necessary than ever. I also know that local people and local businesses show great neighbourliness and solidarity. I know they will want the Foodbank to succeed for as long as it is needed.”
