Commenting on the National Housing Federation figures which show that nearly 5,000 Doncaster residents will be hit by the government’s ‘Bedroom Tax’ losing on average £728 per year, Don Valley MP Caroline Flint said:
“The more we find out about the bedroom tax the less fair it seems. As more and more examples of injustice arising from this policy are exposed, we need to up the pressure on the Government to review the Bedroom Tax.
“Of course we have to manage social housing well, but this isn’t the way to do it.”
The latest figures from the National Housing Federation show the total number of people in Doncaster affected by the tax is 4,822.
The constituency figures are:
Don Valley 1,543
Doncaster Central 1,699
Doncaster North 1,580
