MP joins Hayfield Lane pupils' Eco Day

Caroline Flint joined pupils, staff and governors at Hayfield Lane Primary School this week to support their Eco Day.

Said Caroline:  “The Eco Day is a good example of pupil power.  The Headteacher allowed the pupils to decide the theme and activities for the day.  The pupils put a lot of thought and planning into the day and all of the money raised from their activities was going to save endangered species.”

The Eco Day began with a bike assembly, with pupils learning how cycling can reduce their carbon footprint.  They also had an eco themed menu for dinner, a treasure hunt and designed badges and glove puppets featuring endangered species and Save the Planet bookmarks.  For the day all staff and pupils wore something green.
