Caroline Flint MP visited the first wind turbine installed by a new Doncaster firm, this week when she met Chris and Dave Harbon, who run Harbon turbines.
Chris and Dave showed caroline the first full scale demonstration turbine, installed at Limpool Farm on Stripe Road, for their business partner, Richard Crowe.
The turbine will power the farm, the grain dryer and power crop irrigation equipment.
Said Caroline: “There is a huge interest among farmers and small businesses in renewable energy and I am very interested to see a firm introducing a newly designed wind turbine to the market. Harbon have already gained orders from around the country."
Harbon's next turbine is being installed on the Shetland Islands, where it is designed to withstand 150mph winds.
Harbon Wind Turbines, an offshoot of the long-established electrical engineering family firm H S Harbon & Sons, has developed a new turbine designed to maximise output by coping with varying wind speeds.
