Caroline Flint and Councillor Elsie Butler joined the launch of a new borough-wide campaign to remind parents about safety near schools.
The “No Waiting. No Parking. No Excuse.” message is being put on banners outside of primary schools across the borough. The campaign is backed by the police, Doncaster MBC, St Leger Homes and Doncaster TARAs.
Said Caroline: “I am pleased to support all of the organisations that have made the School Road Safety Project happen. This campaign about safe parking near schools is very important. It reminds everyone that yellow lines near school entrances are there for a reason. If this campaign stops one child being hurt it is worth it.”
Said Elsie Butler: “Anyone who sees how busy schools are at drop off and pick up time, know that one inconsiderate driver or one parent in too much of a hurry to park sensibly can lead to a child getting injured or worse. This is a great campaign and the children are big supporters of this message.”
Said Margaret Adamson, Chair of Edlington Royal TARA: “This launch of the School Road Safety Project is brilliant. The support today has been tremendous. There is no better no way of getting our message across.”
