To celebrate the launch of the new look Denaby Main Post Office, local MP Caroline Flint was joined by Cllr Sandra Holland and Cllr Chris Mills to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony this week.
Caroline Flint MP said: "Everyone knows how important the post office network is in our local communities, and Stuart Jackson and Glen Fraser clearly value providing a good service to the community. So it is wonderful to have the opportunity to open the new look Denaby Main Post Office. The modern premises and Saturday afternoon opening will be welcomed by busy customers."
RED RIBBON DAY:Zoe Dockerty (Post Office Field Changer Advisor) Pamela Harrison (counter clerk) Stuart Jackson (sub postmaster), Caroline and Glenn Fraser (sub postmaster).
Said Cllr Sandra Holland: “This is wonderful. The new style Post Office has five serving positions, which will be a mixture of two screened and two open plan, with a Post Office serving point provided for use at the retail counter and available during shop opening hours. There is a new ATM and I know that Stuart and Glen have plans for an internet cafe in the branch.”
Said Cllr Chris Mills: “There is no business at the heart of a community like the post office. The renewal and modernisation up and down the country that began under the last Government has given a lift to the most trusted financial institution in the country. This new-look branch is not only good for Denaby Main it is great for the future of Gray Court.”
Stuart Jackson said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to modernise the Post Office and are very pleased to be re-launching it today for the community. It has been transformed and all the hard work has been worth it. Everyone likes the improvements and the fact we are also opening all day on Saturday will be a great help to busy customers.”

Post Office Stakeholder Manager Steve Bruckshaw said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Denaby Main and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
He added: “The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
The Post Office, now independent of Royal Mail, is the largest retail network in the UK, with over 11,500 branches. It is also one of the fastest growing financial services companies and is developing its online and telephony services.
