Caroline Flint joined Doncaster Mayor Majid Khan and Cantley with Branton Parish Council Chair Michelle Sidebottom to open the Branton Community Event this week.
The event marked the unveiling of a new circular walk and new play and fitness equipment.
It also marked the opening of Sianne's Butterfly Trail, a butterfly-friendly border and commemorative bench in memory of Sianne White, who passed away in 2015, aged three.
Said Caroline: "This day saw a number of hopes and dreams come true. The idea by Sarah and Neil White to create a butterfly trail along the walk was a moving way to remember Sianne and a lovely addition to the park. The trail was completed by a new butterfly sculpture by Conisbrough artist Leon Clemitshaw.
"And I only have praise for Michelle Sidebottom, Julia Staniforth and the parish councillors who have worked so hard to fulfil the communities ambitions for this land. They have turned a field into something special for the community and I was pleased to be able to share this day with Them; and to welcome Mayor Majid Khan to join us for this special occasion."
Sianne's butterfly trail and the circular walk adjoins Kilham hall, Kilham Lane, Branton. Find out more at Cantley with Branton Parish Council. There is more about community activities in their latest newsletter.
