Small Business Saturday - Chocolates

Lockwoods - SBS - Xmas DecsCaroline Flint supported the UK’s first Small Business Saturday with chocolates, coffee and flowers in Tickhill.

Caroline called into Carlson & Davies for coffee and chocolates with Nikki Davies and Jim Carroll of the Tickhill Business Association; before dropping into Jim’s shop, Lockwood’s Florists to check out the Christmas decorations.

Said Nikki Davies: “It was great that Caroline popped into Carlson & Davies and Lockwoods of Tickhill on Small Business Saturday.  We are delighted that she recognises that local shops and businesses bring something different to each high street.  We are part of what makes Tickhill special and for people like Caroline to promote the value of small businesses is really appreciated by members of our Business Association.”

Ms Flint said: “As a local MP, who lives and shops locally, I have tried to be a friend to small businesses.  Local shops and services have a unique place in the towns and villages in my constituency; and they give each place its own character.  I believe we should shop local.”

Caroline then finished her day at the Vanilla Rooms, Bawtry, members of the Bawtry Retailers Assocation.

The MP has supported the growth of local business organisations in Thorne and Edlington and promoted the work of the Tickhill Business Association and the Bawtry Retailers Association which were already established.SBS vanilla Rooms

Ms Flint, who urged Ministers to support the establishment of Small Business Saturday in the UK, circulated Small Business Saturday posters to retailers and encouraged them to tweet their support for the campaign #smallbizsatuk
