Caroline Flint and Cllr Phil Cole joined Scout Leaders, Rev Ian Smith, parish councillors and residents to light a new Community Field of Remembrance at St Peter’s Church Warmsworth to all those who lost their lives in Edlington & Warmsworth serving in the two world wars.
The idea for the Field of Remembrance came from Shaun McDermott, Cub Scout Leader for 1st/36th St Peter’s Warmsworth Scout Group.
Caroline Flint joined volunteers from the Warmsworth WI keeping out of the mid-day sun, at this year's Warmsworth Gala.
The MP checked out the coffee and cake before handing out prizes in the raffle.
Said Caroline: "Warmsworth Gala is always an absolute pleasure and the weather always seems to bless this event. The WI produce wonderful refreshments and help to make this event the success it is."
Caroline Flint declared Warmsworth Gala ‘70 and going strong’ after spending Saturday enjoying the occasion in its 70th year.
Ms Flint spent time talking to local groups that protect the Don Gorge, including the Don Gorge Community Group, and the Don Catchment Rivers Trust www.dcrt.org.uk
